Dental Medicine

Vet Clinic: 330-549-1111, PRESS #1

Proper dental care starts at home with dental hygiene, just like people. Brushing your pets teeth is important.  Dry food is generally better than canned food for both dogs and cats.

For dogs, chewing rawhide helps keep teeth and gums clean.

Common signs of dental disease include bad breath, pain while eating, bleeding or reddened gums, drooling, gum recession, and tooth loss.  Dental disease begins as gingivitis,

caused by plaque buildup.  Without preventative measure or proper dental care,

this can develop into  worsening dental issues.  If you see any of the  above signs, contact your veterinarian to have a consultation about your pets oral health.
