"BAN THE BIG BELLIES"
What is it ?
BAN THE BIG BELLIES is ANGELS
for ANIMALS participating event in the Humane Society of the
United States (HSUS) annual SPAY DAY.
A multi day event where we supplement the cost of 100 feline
(50 male / 50 female ) and 60 canine (30 male / 30 female)
spays/neuters for pets owners with financial hardship.
Owners will only have to pay a nominal fee that covers a
small part of the spay and neuter only. Other medical
services will be available to these owners at regular price.
Spays are
strictly limited to funding received.
Vouchers for surgery go on
sale Feb 1st and will be sold with respect to how much
funding is available and becomes available until Feb 25th.
When is it ?
All spays and neuters will be
scheduled for Feb 23, 24, 25. Most if not all cat surgeries
will be on Feb 23. Owners must be able to
participate in one of these three scheduled dates or they
will not be able to participate in the program, but
are free to use any of other Angels low cost spay/neuter
programs.
How is it funded ?
This program is being
entirely funded on donations and fundraisers, like our Jan
24 pancake breakfast. We will need to raise $6,650 to
complete the full number of surgeries listed above. If
we raise more funding then we will issue more vouchers.
Sponsors are being sought and
any person wanting to sponsor and entire section of the
event can have their name or business put on all promotional
materials for the event, including the website, flyers,
handouts, receipts and any other materials released for the
event.

Did you know ?
(Facts and figures about pet overpopulation)
-
More than 4
million homeless pets - about half the number of animals
entering shelters each year - are put down.
-
U.S.
Shelters can't save and support the huge number of
accidental litters, strays and family pets brought to
their doors every day.
-
Your pets
puppies and kittens could be put down in a shelter.
-
You can
reduce these numbers by spaying or neutering your
pets.
-
Spaying
(for females) and neutering (for males) are surgeries
done by a veterinarian that stop animals from being able
to reproduce.
-
In the time
it took you to read this so far, 4 pets were put to
sleep.
