A premier non-profit animal shelter in Northeast Ohio, Angels for Animals has been making a difference in our community for over a decade.

Since 1990, over 21,000* animals have been adopted through AFA.

Animals receive veterinary care on site in our state-of-the-art medical facility. Approximately 8,000* spay/neuter surgeries are done yearly.

With the help of a large volunteer base, our small staff maintains hundreds of cats and dogs in the shelter and in our foster care program.

Make A Difference! Help us control pet overpopulation through early spay/neuter, education, and adoption. Located in Northeastern Ohio, Angels for Animals has been making a difference in our community for over a decade. Angels is a great place to practice shelter medicine and work with animals that need your help.  We are seeking registered technicians with drive and dedication to work in a high-volume and fast-paced team environment. Our staff performed over 8,000 low-cost spays and neuters last year and maintains a shelter population of 150-250 animals. 

Job Description:
Working under the direction of the medical manager you will practice all aspects of a registered technicianís duties, with primary focus on assisting with surgeries, lab work, examinations, administering vaccines, record keeping and euthanasia.  Suitable candidates must be computer literate, detail oriented, able to take direction and be adaptable as required.

Up to 40 hours of work per week scheduled with additional on-call time on occasions and some special events (rabies clinics etc.)

Must be Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Ohio.
-  Must be dependable.
-  Computer literate.
-  Reliable transporation required.
-  Self-motivated and capable of taking direction.
-  Detailed oriented, good natured and able to adapt as needed.
-  Able to lift and move large animals with aid.
-  Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities include:
-  Animal intake and testing.
-  Assist veterinarians in surgery.
-  Surgical preparation.
-  Lab work.
-  Direct animal care.
-  Administer vaccines and medications under a veterinarians supervision.
-  Patient care and monitoring.
-  Medical record keeping and data entry.
-  Client education.
